I hope you're gonna love this page! Maybe at the beginning you came in without a real intent, but just keep reading. I am sure you will be impressed on the huge amount of spirituality in this topic. It is not by chance that I am putting genealogy under the page "Spirituality". It happened to me the same, when for the first time I got closer to it.

When I received my testimony, I was astonished! I felt like the Lord took me like Paul and Alma, for some reason. At the beginning I thought to be blessed, and I was, but not like I was thinking: Paul and Alma were bad guys before they were converted to the church and I was too. Jesus explained to Thomas in

John 20:27-29 "Then saith to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed."

So there are at least 2 kinds of conversions in the church. The Lord fortunately gives us both opportunities, so sometimes, when people are referring to me as a lucky guy for my testimony, I reply that it is not true, surely I was lucky, or better blessed, but the pure of heart are the favorites in the eye of the Lord.

I am sure you are wondering: "we were supposed to hear about genealogy" right? You are completely right. At the end you will see why I did this.

D&C 128:17 "And again, in connection with this quotation I will give you a quotation from one of the prophets, who had his eye fixed on the restoration of the priesthood, the glories to be revealed in the last days, and in special manner this most glorious of all subjects belonging to the everlasting Gospel, namely, the baptism for the dead."

I want to stop here for a while, why is it the Most Glorious of all?

The Mission of the church is:

PREACH THE GOSPEL

PERFECT THE SAINTS

REDEEM THE DEAD

Why the last one seems to be the most important?

D&C 131 :1-4

In the celestial glory there are 3 heavens or degrees. And in order to obtain the highest, a man must enter into this order of the priesthood (meaning the new and everlasting covenant of marriage); and if he does not, he cannot obtain it. He may enter into the other, but that is the end of his kingdom; he cannot have an increase.

Only the family can enter in the highest, the angels go in the second level and we don't know, but it is clear that there will be a telestial part in the celestial glory. Don't misunderstand me because it is not important now, but many people don't realize that there are 3 conditions in the celestial glory, 1 celestial, for the family, 1 terrestrial for the angels 1 telestial and we don't know for who, so far. Anyway, Families are forever. What is your family? Me and my wife, one moment, no my children too. Sure anybody wants his children.

Psalms 127:3 "Lo children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward."

If it is an heritage you are right, they will be yours, you are absolutely right! What about your Dad he has the same right on you, right? And so on... Are you beginning to realize the real concept?

D&C 128:18 "It is sufficient to know, in this case, that the earth will be smitten with a curse unless there is a welding link of some kind or another between the fathers and the children, upon some subject or another and behold what is that subject? It is the baptism for the dead. For we without them cannot be made perfect. Neither can they without us be made perfect..........To usher in, that a whole and complete and perfect union, and welding together of dispensations, and keys and powers and glories.....

Now it starts to be more clear. Have you ever thought about the title "Helohim"?

Helohim means Gods literally but why in plural? I want to share something with you. I like to study the meanings of the words or the roots. Once I was reading an interesting Jews book. It explained many interesting things related to the sacred words in the Bible. Explaining the word Helohim it quoted: "The word Helohim is a plural formed from the singular feminine Alh, Eloh, adding Im to the word, but since IM it is usually the end of a plural masculine, and it is here added to a feminine name, it gives to the word Helohim the sense of a feminine power united to an masculine idea and therefore able to procreate, we could therefore say that the word Heloim means also FAMILY. A great joy came upon me. Finally His sacred name filled my heart with joy and knowledge. Gods gave me only the hint, male and female, the man and the woman were done at his image and likeness. It sounded good for Adam but for Eve I had a problem. At that point there weren't anymore problems. Also, only the family goes to the top and also the man according the Bible. It is not only the man, but man and woman. See Genesis 5:2 "Male and female created He them and called their name Adam, in the day when THEY were created." You could say, calm down man, it is only speculation. I thought the same until I found a scripture in the Bible to clearly support this important doctrine.

Ephesians 3:15 "Of whom the WHOLE FAMILY IN HEAVEN AND EARTH IS NAMED."

At this point for me there is no more speculation. Not only, it makes a lot sense and it goes with the doctrine of the church, support the last revelations of Joseph and above all is in the Bible!

I'd like to point out also that Paul is saying "family in heaven" this is a doctrine of Joseph Smith, only the family go in heaven.

Let's go now to the scriptures. Many people think that the scriptures contain very few words about genealogy. I don't agree totally. God put them in the best places to give us some hints. Where does the Bible start? From Genesis. What does this word mean? It means creation. I would like to point out that Genealogy has the same root "gen", like generation. The book of Genesis is the genealogy of the earth, in what way the earth was generate, and without the earth, no men at all, we are generate from her dust. We have 2 books of Chronicles in which is written only about genealogy. How does the old Testament finish? Malachi 4:5-6

"Behold, I will send you Elijah, the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: and he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse."

It is pure genealogy. In what way does the new testament begin? Matthew 1:1

"The book of the generation of Jesus Christ......" Genealogy!

What is the last revelation in D&C Section 138? The vision of the spiritual world. It seems to me that in a symbolic way the Lord wants to point out to us that the Gospel can't be fulfilled without the reunion of his family. Have you ever realized that if we don't do the work for the dead, the coming of Elijah was useless and the earth could be smitten the same with a curse? Yes we can destroy the work of the Lord for our lasiness, well at least retard because in the millennium The Lord will help us, but are we ready to take upon us this great responsibility?

When I received my testimony I wondered why I had this testimony. When I was to move in U.S.A. I felt a strong feeling, before I moved I had to do all my genealogy. I had already done all of the genealogy for my wife, and I had done at least my 4 generations, so I thought in little time I will accomplish this task easily. It took 2 years and I'm gonna explain why. I went in the church and I found books until 1750a.c., in 3 months everything was done. The last day, when I was thinking: "it is over" I was reading a book and there was a note in it: "If you want to find more records you can go in this place...." Well I said to myself, why not? I went there and I found books until 1450a.c. After 2 months working hard I was in the 1650a.c. but I lost my ancestors, they have moved from another place. The wish to find them was stronger than anything else. I prayed to the Lord continuously, crying sometimes.

After several months a person told me about a big library in Florence. I went there and I found my ancestors again. In 2 months I was in 1550 a.c., It is clear I did the search for all my relatives, not only my last names, and it was the same for my wife's side. In the meantime I made a friendship with several genealogist very professional that they taught me many interesting things, about genealogy, names and things related. The last day when I thought I have done my work, I was greeting one of them and I said: "Well, my work is over, no more search for my ancestors." "Why?" He answered. "Well, there are no more records!" He replied: "If you mean church's records, you are right, but there are so many, regarding taxes and stuff like that, in another big library downtown Florence. If you want you could take a look there a maybe you can find them until the middle age." I was afraid of it, because I was getting tired to jump from a library to another. I was always working my full-time job in Prato and I was using my break time (In Italy we have 3 Hours from noon to 3 o'clock) and my week ends. Fortunately my wife was supporting me in this task. So I went to this library. I was real lucky! I found all the records concerning the taxes and I went on 1290 a.c. Obviously I took all the pictures of the records. It was a real treasure. I discovered where they lived in which house, in what part of the city, what they possess, everything! I was so pleased, so happy and maybe too proud. 22 generations for my last name, but I was too proud about that and the Lord, one day while I was praying, revealed to me something very special and it made me very humble. He told me: "Many times you wondered about your testimony, why you received something so special, now it is the time for you to know about it. Many ancestors of your lineage have accepted the Gospel and they prayed to me and asked me to give you a strong testimony of the true Gospel. They felt that you would accomplish this task. So many were their prayer and so strong was their wish that they received their reward. Surely if you didn't pray I couldn't do nothing, but you did and I rewarded them and you for your faith in the promises of my beloved Son. Now remember, you should be grateful for them, not them for what you did, because you received their gift first and what you did it is only something you gave them back. Remember your testimony is a gift of love from them. Don't forget it ever."

After this I had the privilege to see the spiritual world (I know it sounds strange for many people but it is true!) and the church of Firstborn. Many people were inside of it, happy, but I saw several sad. I went closer to them and I asked: "Why are you sad? You are in the true church of God!" "See" answered one of them, "We are of the fifth generation, usually the members of the church do until the fourth generation, so we are excluded from the blessing of the Gospel, so far, we can't hold the priesthood, be sealed to our families and so on." He continued telling me how much they are happy when they see us commit to the genealogy work, but they are sad when they see that we don't care about it. He told me: "When you did your job for your ancestors, you saw many miracles and you thought it was for your faith, not believe not only your faith, but their faith and wish, and when a door was opened, believe me many times it was for their faith and wish, because the Lord listened to their prayer, more than others, because they are people like a blind people in the middle of the street. If nobody helps him, he can't cross the street, and the mercy of the Lord is bigger than the mercy of men.

I promised myself I will never stop doing genealogy. Mine is done, o.k I want to help Italian people to do their genealogy. I really don't care if they are not members of the Church. I don't want money. The only condition I will ask will be: "I will do it for free, but you have to let me do their job in the Temple."

This page I hope is not over. It is open to you members of the church, to your insights, your testimony, everything you feel related to this topic.
