I have always wanted to ask a few questions here goes.

Dear Bibleman.net,

I have a question concerning the King James Version of the Bible, which is the only translation used by the Church. I am not a mormon, however the faith has become increasingly interesting to me. I am a religious studies major at Elon University and was wondering why the Church only uses the KJV of the Bible, which is considered by most scholars to be one of the most inaccurate translations we have today. This is mostly due to the fact that it was translated in 1611 and the resources they used to translate are not as good as what we now have today. Also, it is written in Elizabethan English which does not convey the same meaning today as it did nearly 400 years ago. So my question is this… Why doesn’t the Church endorse a translation that is more faithful to the original Greek and Hebrew documents, especially since the 8th Article of Faith states, “We accept the Bible as the word of God as long as it is translated correctly.”

God Bless,

Brian Carroll
I gave this answer
Dear friend,
well I am not the speaker for the church,
my opinion is just because at the time of the prophet the King James Version was one of the most popular, but as saints we can use all the Bibles, as you say, according to your opinion, now there are better versions, but maybe in the future you could think that there will be one even better so... Why the Protestants don't use the Catholich version? because they have chosen in that way, why the Catholics don't use the Protestant Bible? because they have chosen in that way. Even though in our standard works we use the King James version the church has not an official one. Think about this the protestants they used for centuries the King James version, was it wrong?
Do you mean that now the Bible is more correct? well if that is the case you should imply that before our article of faith was "perfect" and probably in the future even more perfect, infact the Bible is translated in an average of about 20 years because people discovered that the translation could be perfected, am I right?
Massimo

Hi Massimo.

About the LDS doctrine of God being a man, doesn't Numbers 23:19
contradict
this?

Thanks for your time.

My answer

No because this verse is showing just the difference between a mortal
person, a fallen person and a divine Person, this is just a Moral quality
not a phisycal one, make sense? Have you ever read the ONLY ONE scripture
that according to Jesus CANNOT BE BROKEN?
Massimo

Hello,

My question is why do Mormons have such devotion to the "church" rather than to God alone.    The church cannot save anyone -- only the God of heaven and earth can do that.  I believe this is one of the fundamental problems with Mormon doctrine.     Also, if the temple ceremony is sacred and, I would assume, the word of God, why has the ceremony been changed over the years.  God does not change nor does He make mistakes.

Thank you for your time.

Sandra Walker

Well if you remember Jesus "loved" the church as his spouse and the church of Jesu Christ was founded by Jesus to save the people in fact without its ordinances as baptisim no one can enter in the kingdom of God (according to the word of Jesus not mine). God sent Jesus to give us the Gospel ( instructions) and the church (ordinances) they go togheter otherwise Jesus would have done something useless (the church). the temple ceremony was not changed (by the way have you ever been in the temple? If not you are just assuming or believing other people) anyway even though you maybe think the temple ceremony was changed can I ask you why God when He gave the Law to Moses was saying that it was eternal and now we do not keep it anymore? Thanks for asking it was a real pleasure

Have a great day and be happy!!! (temple ceremony in its meaning and oaths was not changed)

Massimo

Is there a direction that, that gold man that is found on top of all the mormon temples should be facing? If there is which way is it and why? And,

Why don't mormons ever swear or buy stuff on Sundays?

Thanks for your time.

Clint.

Moroni the angel on top of the temples is facing east, because Jesus is the light of the world and so light always comes up from east.
Because sundays is the Lord's day and should be a day of rest for everybody. We can't push people to rest but don't buy on that day we don't give support to them.
Have a great day.
Massimo

Sir,
I recently wrote and you said Jesus came to america.Do you believe he died on the cross and descended into hell and then ascended into heaven to sit as the write hand of the father? How did he escape crucifixion?
Larry

He didn't escape crucifixion the book of Mormon states that he descended from heaven to visit this continent. He did the same on Jerusalem remember? He stayed 40 days after his resurrection in Jerusalem, so the same question you did to me is valid for the same problem and the fourty days minister is written in the Bible.
Massimo

Hello, thank you for taking the time to read my questions. I do not believe in mormonism but have family that is mormon and I have studied it myself. My questions are too numerous for this so I shall only ask a few. Do not worry about offending me, I appreciate frank answers.
1. My first question concerns the "mormon view of Jesus" - First, a contradiction. No adequet answer has ever been given this. According to Abraham 3:25 taking on a physical body is prerequisite to attaining godhood, yet it is a commonly held mormon belief that Jesus was a God before he inherited a physical form. Please explain.
2. The authority of the Bible is questioned in the mormon church. "As far as it is translated correctly" There are countless manuscripts for the bible and not one of the Book of Mormon except for the golden plates that no man of today has seen. There are more than 24,000 partial and complete manuscript copies of the NT available for viewing today. As far as the "numerous variations" are concerned, 99% ot them involve a missing letter or the reversal of the order of "Jesus Christ to Christ Jesus." Even with the remaining 1% not a single doctrine of the Christian faith is changed. When the various copies of different ages are studied, it is revealed that they are virtually identical. Yet through the scince the 1st 1800's edition of B.O.M the variants of the book of mormon have been numerous- about (4,000!) and the doctorine has been greatly affected. The way the book of mormon was said to be translated it seems impossible that such a grand number of mistakes could have taken place. Please explain.
3. The Bible says that God's word does not return to him void. Why would the Lord allow allow his truth to be hidden for so long and reveled to Joseph Smith so long after it's "corruption"? Why did Smith's revelation constantly change, such as his stating in the Book of Mormon that there was only one God. To believing in a mass number of gods? The book of Isaiah 44:6-9 says..."is there a God besides me? yea, there is no God; I know not any." Does the word of GOD matter?
Thank you so much for reading these. I would really appreciate a response. May the true Christ be with you and in you.

Dear friend
first question is very simple Jesus was a God even before to obtain his body in the same way that WE ARE according to His words in John
"Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; Ye are Gods! Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?"
We learn two things from this scripture. The first one is the key. This is the first and only time Jesus ever stated that "THE SCRIPTURE CANNOT BE BROKEN." And why did He say this?
Because He wanted to make sure that me and YOU could understand that we are Gods in embryo

John 17:3
Jesus maintains that the Father is the Only true God.

Jesus in the Bible said that we should be perfect as the Father is, but in the Book of Mormon after his resurrection He said to be perfect as Him and the Father are.
"Are we not in the caterpillar stage?

Each of us is likely to follow the tendency to settle down in our own little cocoon and be resigned to life as it appears to be, quite certain that what we believe and think and feel is the way it is. However, now and then something stirs within and one asks himself, "Isn't there more to life than this?" He begins to examine some of his opinions and belief and is not quite so sure that he knows all there is to know. He asks:"What is truth?" The cocoon is beginning to crack. He feels new motivations, new inspiration and inner feelings of compassion and love awakening within him. Love takes on new meaning; it is less and less selective and discriminative. he finds he can even love those whom he had formerly condemned. It is not easy to drop the cocoon. It requires courage to stand alone when others urge him back to the old ways. the same old self-will and self-interest keep wanting to hold him back. But something within him refuses to be held within old limitations and finally and it may take years, as again it may not he can be free and become a new creature in Christ consciousness. For, like the butterfly, this was his pattern and purpose from the beginning, that he should be a child of God, made in His image and likeness. It has been thought that this Christ awareness, the soul awakening, would come only after death, but"NOW are we sons of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when He does appear we shall BE LIKE HIM for we shall see Him as He is." 1 John 3:2

Romans 8:19
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

Galatians 4:6
6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

and also He declared:" The things I do ye shall do also, AND GREATER THINGS shall ye do." He claimed nothing for Himself that He did not claim for US.

and the Bible is even more clear that we will receive the same inheritance that Jesus had the book of revelation is full of these references and if Jesus is God and our brother and if we are sons' of God the Father why should we afraid to think that one day we will be like our Father and our Brother?

THE MORMON ILLUSION regarding the "FEW" mistakes contained in the Bible and regarding this silly (excuse me) idea not a single doctrine of the Christian faith is changed.

I'd like to ask you if , by change, are you aware that there are hundreds of different denominations, even in the field of the protestants, with many different views on doctrines, so please you should tell me which one you mean is correct before to declare that not a SINGLE doctrine is changed.

Regarding the third question

Have you ever read in the BIBLE prophecies regarding APOSTASY or falling away? and about the ONE GOD problem was easily solved in the first answer.

May the TRUE God be with you.

Answers to the readers

As a fellow LDS, I was stumped by a question that I was asked not to long ago. "If you believe that one must be married and sealed in the Temple in order to someday go to the Celestial Kingdom, why did Christ Himself not get married and sealed?" "You do believe that He will be there in the Celestial Kingdom, right?" I wasn't sure what to say. If you have any insight, it would be appreciated. Thank you.

Jesus was clearly married because no one could speak in the sinagogue on the sabbath day if he was no married, also the title Rabbi given to him several times denotes the same thing because only married man could be called in that way. If you went through the temple you know who is the first person you will meet after your personal resurrection and who was the first person that Jesus met after His resurrection? Think about it and give yourself an asnwer.
Massimo

Dear Massimo,

Hope you are having a wonderful day.

Can you help me with a question?  It has to do with the entire idea of
"Heavenly Mother".

(1) Is there a Heavenly Mother, is she to be worshipped, does she have a body
as Heavenly Father has a body?

(2) If Heavenly Father has a body why does he have "Spirit Children" instead of
children of flesh?

(3) The "Spriit World" after death.

There are four classes of people there????

(a) Those who have done all they need to go to the Celestial Kingdom.
(b) Those who have heard about the Atonement of Jesus Christ but did
nothing about it / rejected it.
(c) Those who never had the chance to hear of the Atonement of Jesus
Christ.
(d) Those who blasphemy against the Holy Ghost and/or those that reject
Christ in the Spirit World.

I really don't have a question about A, C or D.  But the question has to do
with B.

Those who rejected Christ on this earth are now given another chance in the
spirit world?
Can they eventually go to the Celestial Kingdom from the spirit world?

Thanks for your time.  I sincerely appreciate it.

Larry Dean Jackson

Dear Larry
unfortunately there is nothing revealed, I mean in the scriptures  about the
Mother in Heaven, even though there are clues and references that clearly
infer to her. For example:"Godmade the man in his likeness, male and female,
so we know that the Father is clearly a male, in what image Eve was
made? Also in Ephesians is stated by Paul that there are families in heaven
and clearly evrey family has a Father and a mother. Joseph Smith said that
the Father didn't disclose anything about His wife because He doesen't want
that people could swear Her. On my opinion she is the same like the Father,
because Adam was in the likeness of God clearly Eve was in the likeness of
the mother. Your second question is a very good one but it has to do with
the fact that God can't teach evil and therefore to have the knowlegde of
good and evil people has to do the experience by themselves and they should
die to get a resurrected body as the Father, but this is just my opinion.
Regarding your question about the spiritual world my suggestion is to read
deeply D&C 76 and also remember that jugdement will be different for each
one of us, meaning that only God will know exactly our thoughts, desires and
real intent so WE CAN'T know who will inherit a place or another one,
because we are unable to judge like God does.
Have a great day.
Massimo

Hello, my name is Valarie Stewart. I have a question, but first I
would like to tell you how wonderful your site is! I really appreciate all
of your wisdom and information! I have learned quite a bit! Now to my
question.
OK - I understand that Jesus is also Jehovah. I am wondering why in
the Old Testament the people only gave their praises, prayers and worship to
Jehovah. If the glory is supposed to be directed to the Father and that was
one of Jesus' greatest messages - then why is it not clear in the Old
Testament? Do you know of any verses that support this?
Thank you so much in advance and again thank you for all of your
wonderful writings!
: ) Valarie
Dear sister,
firts of all, thanks for you kind words.
In my opinion your question is pretty intriguing. My idea is that all the people who had the Gospel: Adam ,Enoch, Melchisedec and many others before of the Exodus time, had the real knowledge. We know that Jehova spoke to Moses on the mountain and He was ready to give the Gospel to the Hebrew but they were not ready, so they received the Law and they knew Jehova, He was their God. Jesus manifested His father to them and specially to His disciples " He said John 17:6
6 ¶ I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: The Jews were offended from His words but the reality was that Jesus ecxplained this to them John 17:6
It seems to me that the Mediator usually introduce His father to the people when they accepted Him like Savior John 14:23
John 8:24-40
When you read these verses when you find (I am ) you should put the name Jehova Jesus was talking in Hebrew and He was saying that he was Jehova and he was just doing the will of the Father, But they didn't understand just because they didn't have any faith in Him.
I don't know if I was able to make my point clear. Consider that I am italian and I didn't have a lot time to consider your question, but this is my idea, maybe, having more time I could consider other verses to support this opinion. People under the law didn't have the same knowlegde of the people under the Gospel, Melchisedec gave the sacrament to Abraham (bread and vine) but He had the Gospel even the Melchisedec priesthood was not in the middle of the Jews and the old testament from Exodus to Michaia is clearly the History of these people.
Hoping to have been able to satisfy your question, your friend and brother.
Massimo

Could you give me your take on who is Egyptus, keeping in mind the following:

Abraham 1:23 indicates that Egyptus was the wife of Ham.

Abraham 1:25 indicates that Egyptus was the daughter of Ham.

Abraham 1:26 indicates that Pharoh was the son of Noah.

Could Egyptus be a title (meaning Forbidden) given to both the wife of Ham and their daughter, who had a son by Noah?

your answer would be greatly appreciated.

Bob Evans

I think You are right because verse 22 at the beginning specify that from this lineage came all the Egyptians and the following verses are a clear explanation why was given the name Egyptus ( what means forbidden). On my opinion Ham not only took the garment of his father but also he didn't listen to his suggestions about the wife when was married. Probably his wife had another name but when was married her name was changed like many other (Abram abraham, Jacob, Israel and so on) just to make the people remember the lesson.
But this is just my opinion.

Pam wrote: "Why pray?"

I'm not a Mormon or Christian. I was told to try praying but nothing
happened. Why? Everyone says this is normal and I may not get an answer. If I
don't get an answer why should I pray in the first place?

Pam

To show our faith and devotion

there are some ingredients in the prayer to be observed in first place, when
you gain those ingredients you will need one more, patience, no one can push
the Lord in receiving His answer How and when, sometimes the answer comes
quick sometimes it takes a while. If you manifest faith and patience you
will receive it, if you manifest anxiety and hurry probably you won't.
without faith it is impossible to please Him and faith is manifested in
steady patience.
Have a great day and may God bless you in what you need.

Chris Rogers wrote

my answer

my question is who is in your opinion the true God? God, Jesus or the Holy
Ghost? because if you maintain that there is just one, I'd like to know which
one is your preferred, make sense?

you wrote: We believe in every word of the Bible
that is nice I will keep on mind.
Leaving aside for the moment your questions about my beliefs, because like I
wrote they are non important in our discussion.
You say that God is spirit, but Jesus went in heaven with his body and the
Bible says that we need at least 2 or 3 witnesses to prove one point could
you quote me 3 scriptures in which is clearly declared that God is spirit
because I have so many in which God is described with a body like a man
talking with people face to face and so on. Colossians 2:9

For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

BODILY IS VERY CLEAR
Hebrew 1:3

Who being the brightness of [his] glory, and the express image of his
person. I could quote many more but they are enough

You  wrote :"This leads me to believe that he was not a man.  Men have
beginnings. and That
means that he is not God, but a subordinate or creation of God.  It says
very plainly in the Bible that Jesus was always and will always be here.  He
is Alpha and Omega.

Revelation 3
14
And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith
the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of
God;

So Jesus had a beginning, from His own words, Is he a man or maybe your idea
of trinity is pretty confusing? are we using a different Bible?

Lorna wrote

What generally happens in prophecy is that God tells them
what
he is about to do.  He does not generally give them a revelation that he
had
(past tense) performed something 1000 + years before (such as visiting the
American Indians on a stopover while ascending to heaven.)  New light is
only new to us and not to God.  New light never contradicts present light.

My answer

Well Peter explained that Jesus was three days in the spiritual world. Just
another stop over. Sorry but your idea is clearly a bluff Peter received
knowledge about a stop over in the past.

Peter wrote two little epistles but it seems to me that you don't have read
them often. I Peter 3:19 and I Peter 4:6.
It doesn't matter is you wrote:" He does not generally give them a
revelation that he
had
(past tense).
Those two scriptures in Peter is the proof that God can give us even
information for the past when it is necessary.

Lorna replied

It was an explanation of something that Jesus had
already told them.  The sign of Jonah and the whale

My point

Sorry but the preaching the Gospel in the spiritual world was not clarified
in any other scripture, or you can provide that information for me? Could you
show me in some other scripture before of I Peter in which is declared that
Jesus should stay three days, PREACHING HIS GOSPEL IN THE SPIRITUAL WORLD
AND THE MEANING OF IT! Please let me know because every scripture you will
support it would be very important for my point and belief..

She replied

He only wrote about it to the church a few years
later.

my point.

It doesn't matter how long it took he gave us information
contained in THE PAST and that is against your point not mine.

She asked to put the links of the anti's on my page so I replied

Regarding the list of links that I should put on my page to be fair, I have
no problem on that. It was my goal, I wrote to many of these links just to
ask them to have a link exchange, did you know what happened? many of them
didn't answer me back and several of them they feared to do it. I am so
confident that, biblically speaking, my ground is so strong, that this is my
challenge and deal with you. From this I will see how fair you and your
"friends" are fair and correct.
This is the challenge and deal.
Talk to them and for each link they will do to my page I will do a link to
them.
Are you ready?
Go ahead you are doing me a great favor. I was unsuccessful and probably by
your pride I will obtain what I am looking for : a great exposure in the
field of the adversary. Obviously having the truth I surely don't fear to
play there.
Please let me know I am very interested in it. I am sure that those guys are
willing to be able to fair enough to do the same.
Have a great day and thanks again.
Massimo
I am not kidding, please do me this favor.

she wrote me back

You do not need permission to add a link to your site.
I have set up plenty of point and click web sites and
their is a place to add links.  I am sure that your
site is none threatening, and they are not my
"friends."  They are simply information sites
(numerous).  They feared to do it; I doubt that
seriously.  Your site is not even that informative if
I was a Mormon.  The sites listed are listed at a site
that show the Mormon claims about their religion and
then the historical truths.  You and many others are
dangerous in the sense that you treat the kingdom of
God with such complacency.  Even now you hear a
challenge instead of wanting to investigate the truth.
The truth does not fear investigation.  The sincere
heart motivated out of love for God and others should
always be prepared to adjust their thinking/beliefs to
fit truth and not to adjust truth to fit their
thinking/beliefs.  My prayers are for you.

My answer

I know that I don't need any permission to add a link.
But please why I should be fair enough to put a link to somebody and I don't
have to have a link in return from them.
Dear sister it seems to me that your fairness is just in one way, so please
give me a favor I will put all the links you want if they will provide a
link of my page on them, just to balance the fairness that it seems close to
your heart. Is that FAIR ENOUGH?
Even my prayers are for you seem a very FAIR person so please don't tell
me that their web pages are worth to be linked and mine not just because you
think in that way. I have no problem to put a link to them because I know
how much stupid information they have, they could do the same, specially if
they are thinking that my page is stupid they will have a more powerful
proof that my beliefs are wrong. Their pages are just gossips, mine is based
on the Bible.

In your article about faith and work you never addressed Eph 2:1-10.
If you could send your interpretation of these verses that would be cool. Or
if I missed it in your article show me where it is. Thanks-

My answer

My article is to show that scriptures are talking about salvation by works 90% and salvation by faith 10% and most important Peter the chief of the apostles gave a warning about the writings of Paul. Anyway if salvation is just by faith, confessing Jesus name, well all the Christian should be saved, it is just a consequence, I confess Jesus like Savior every day so....

Btw there are to one more scripture that I didn't include in my talk do you want comment for myself?

Mt 16:27
For the Son of Man will come with his angels in his Father's glory, and then he will repay everyone according to his conduct.

everyone in English is pretty clear isn't it?

Have a great day and don't worry I am not bothered if you want to keep your idea, I surely will keep mine Jesus taught that if you want to gain the eternal life you must obey the commandments, probably you prefer the easy way.

Take care.

Is the Mormon church racist? I've read a lot of racist things concerning
black people.
Marie

No the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints was never racist and
never will be.
What you read is just propaganda. When the protestants kept the black people
slaves, our prophet was speaking up for this and that is one of the reason
why in Missouri the people didn't like the lds people. The real racist were
the people in this country who kept the slaves even though the constitution
maintained freedom for everybody and remember there was a need of a war to
make them free, can I ask you what was the predominant religion at that time
in your country? If you don't know let me help you 95% were just protestants
and have you ever heard some good sermons in that time against slavery if
not from our prophet? Surely not then who were the REAL racists? Think about
it and try to find the good answer to your question. Thank for asking.
Your friend
Massimo

again thank you I can not tell you how much your responses are helping me.
I
did not get a direct answer to one of my questions.  does the LDS church
worship Jesus?  and another thing, I do not understand why there are so
many temples, doesn't the Bible say that there is only to be one Temple
and
that is to be in Jerusalem?  what exactly is the significance of the
temple
and what becomes of those who divorce after a temple marriage.  and what
about those who remarry after their loved one dies.  who are they with
when
they die.  also is it possible to get into heaven by only using the Bible
and its teachings?
respectfully,
David

Dear friend,
We worship the Father in the name of Jesus. Jesus is the Son of God and the
Mediator between God the Father and mankind, the God known like Jehovah in
the old testament times was just Him, in fact after the fallen the name
Helohim was not used anymore but always Jehovah and for this reason John
said that no one saw God, meaning the Father, mankind was excluded from Him
presence and Jesus was the Mediator. I suggest you to read The Great Jehovah
on my page to have a better understanding of this. Anyway Jesus when was on
earth received worship from people and in the book of Mormon it is written
that it was correct because having Jesus present on earth He represented His
Father. It is like your president send somebody in another country as an
ambassador the people of that country should listen to him like your
president.
There was just one temple in Jerusalem, but there were temples before,
according to the Bible, you could read "temples" on my page. I don't have
time to explain everything tonight but if you have more questions about
temples please fell free to ask me later. All we need to get Heaven is the
Atonement that Jesus provided for us and after that to follow His
commandments, trying to do our best. Scriptures are necessary to know the
basic regarding God and His will but the Holy Ghost will lead us in the
whole truth and He will remind us  the commandments and what we need in
every step of the way, in fact in the scriptures we can have all the
details. The Holy Ghost was set apart for this purpose to remind, to
suggest, to lead to encourage. Basically we need to search the scriptures
because we need to do our part, the Holy Ghost will do the rest, but only if
we are striving to do our best, in keeping the commandments, searching the
scriptures and living a Christ's life.
It seems easy but it is not, Jesus explained this point when taught that the
path is narrow and..... and we need to endure to the end.
I do not know if I was able to make my points, English is not my mother
language, so please feel free comfortable to ask for more details if you
don't understand my remarks.
Ciao.

An unknown person wrote ( some people are ashamed or afraid to introduce themselves)

I have read some of your site not all.  I have couple of questions I'd like
to ask.  The first is do you believe that Jesus is a created being or
almighty God?  How do you reconcile the belief that Jesus and Satan are
brothers if you believe that Jesus is God?  If you don't believe this then
tell me and I'll leave you alone and go somewhere else.

my points.

What I believe is in the Bible. First question: Jesus a created being?

If Jesus is The Son, surely He needs to have a Father. Make sense?

Anyway I don't want to go by common sense but by the scriptures. Have you ever read Revelation 3:14 "the beginning of the creation of God" pretty clear eh?

Satan brother of Jesus, another simple question. Who made Lucifer? Don't tell me you don't know because if Lucifer was co eternal of God would have been like God anyway I have an article on my page "Satan who was he?" or stuff like that, you could take a look if you are really interested on this topic.

Have fun.

Yes and  what about John 1:1 and with Satan Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28.  John
refers to Christ.  He is God almighty and not a created being were as Satan
is a created being and therefore not a brother to Christ.  By the way the
Bible says there is but one God how do you believe in many gods (the council
of the gods) and yet you also believe that you may become one also.  "As man
is god once was, as God is man may become.  How does this square with
scripture?  King James only please.

Dear friend,

It seems to me that you are not able to count. The Father is one God, The Son is another God, The Holy Ghost is another God, that it makes me thinks that I am on Three. Sorry for you but Jesus Himself on the King James version declared that the Father was greater than Him, that His father knows when He will come back but He doesn't know the day. Jesus taught that if you sin against Him you could be forgiven but if you sin against the Holy Ghost you can't be forgiven. See it seems that you don't read the scriptures. Btw have you ever read in the king James version about the council of  Gods. Please take a look at Psalms 82:1 and enjoy. If this is not squaring with you it doesn't matter it is just squaring with the king James version.

My name is João Morais, I am Portuguese and I am studying the Book of Mormon and the Church. I have a doubt, may be you can elucidated me, if it was possible.

The doubt is the following one: In 2 Néfi 2:22-23 I read that Adam fell so that the man existed, because before this, they could not have children (also he is read in the Principles of the Gospel, pg. 30). However, in Genesis 1:28, I read: " You bear fruit and you multiply you... " this order of God was given BEFORE as order on the tree of the science of the good and the evil... knowing we that God does not order to make nothing who in either the possible one not to make, as could Adam and Eva to have fulfilled the first order, " you bear fruit and you multiply you ", if, before its fall, they could not have children? When god spoke with Eva, after the fall, said: "... I will multiply your pain greatly; and your conception; with pain you will have children... " or either,  if we deduce that before she was possible to have children, but without pain, or at least, without great suffering (as apparently is verified in the animal species, that had been also created so that they were multiplied, and not having they, the animals, nothing to see with the sin of Adam and Eva, had continued to procreate without this multiplication of the its pain of the conception),  would God multiply pain, if it did not exist? More, God, when he formed Eva, said: " Therefore, the man will leave its father and its mother (test that to leave of that height would have descent, it would have man that it would have father and mother...), and it will be caught it its woman, and will be both a meat " Praying on the subject, me it was disclosed that Adam fall so that the men existed, but after the fall of Eva, when he was before the duality to fulfill the first one or as the order, to obey " you bear fruit it and you multiply you " or to obey " you will not eat "... Adam chose to obey the biggest commandment, falling then, but this opposes what it comes in 2 Néfi 2:22-23, and also in the Principles of the Gospel: " they could not have children ". What you think about  this? Please, pardon my impertinence, but Lehi did not interpret upper-class the Bible here... as he? If it will not be to abuse, I have other doubts, more easy, that they need being based, can I write?

João Morais

my answer

Dear friend,

Your question is a very good one, I never thought about it. On my opinion it is clear that until Adam and Eve partook of the fruit they had the power in them but not the knowledge, in fact when they partook of the fruit the first thing they did was to wear the leaves of the fig tree to hide their nudity. They were like kids they had the parts to procreate but still they had no idea about their use. So in the book of Mormon is clarified this point, you should understand that Lehi was just saying that they couldn't have children without partaking of the fruit of the tree of knowledge. It is like to have a car but you don't know how to drive. They didn't have children in the garden but only after when they were driven out, so what Lehi was saying was just the truth. God married Adam and Eve in the garden and they had the power but no knowledge, when they partook of the fruit they realized to be naked, so.....

Even we have to consider that even though Adam and Eve were declared man and wife before the fallen, Adam never knew Eve why? Simple the first command was to grow and after to multiply, and the reason was because these two commandments were connected, boys and girls can't procreate until they grow at maturity and probably the fruit not only gave them death but even seed! The proof is in the Bible they didn't have offspring until they had fallen and the Bible is specific in saying that Adam knew Eve after the fallen, so the Book of Mormon is very consistent on this.

Dear Massimo; 1st of all I want to let you know how very much I love your site and the information I find there.  I have sent my sister in Chicago,  a site on the temples and she has asked me why the baptism fonts are on the backs of the oxen?

Dear friend,

for what I know the oxen represent the twelve tribes of Israel and the baptisim font on them means that it is by Israel that salvation comes, in fact no one could enter in the kingdom of God without baptisim.
